Hello and welcome to the Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop where we are sharing projects made using scraps. I have chosen to share the mosaic technique and scraps of Hand Penned dsp. This card was inspired by a video I saw recently on Youtube by Brigit of Kreativ Stempel
To recreate the mosaic technique card, you will need:
Pale Papaya card base – 8¼” by 5⅝” scored at 4⅛” Basic Black card – 5⅜” by 3⅝” Basic Black card – 5¼” by 3½” Misty Moonlight card – 5¼” by 3½” Hand Penned dsp – rectangles cut at 5¾” by 4” – you need 3 – 4 Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” for the inside Scrap Basic Black & Basic White
www.crafty-rootes.com – A mosaic technique card made using scraps of Hand Penned dsp for the Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop
I cut each of the rectangles of dsp on the diagonal into triangles. You need about 6 triangles for this card. Choose card stock where the colours work well together.
www.crafty-rootes.com – A mosaic technique card made using scraps of Hand Penned dsp for the Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop
Each triangle was glued onto the Misty Moonlight panel leaving a tiny border between each piece. The excess was trimmed off.
www.crafty-rootes.com – A mosaic technique card made using scraps of Hand Penned dsp for the Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop
I placed the dsp panel on the trimmer with the short side at the top and cut it down into ⅜” strips. The strips were then mixed up and glued onto the smaller Basic Black panel, again leaving a tiny gap between the strips. Cut off the excess and use these pieces to fill in the last couple of rows.
www.crafty-rootes.com – A mosaic technique card made using scraps of Hand Penned dsp for the Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop
The whole piece was then glued to the larger Basic Black panel. I wrapped a strip of Black, Organdy Glittered Ribbon around the panel and adhered it on the back with Sellotape, The whole piece was the added to the Pale Papaya card base with liquid glue.
www.crafty-rootes.com – A mosaic technique card made using scraps of Hand Penned dsp for the Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop
The sentiment from the Artfully Layered stamp set was stamped on scrap Basic White card and punched out using the Tailored Tag Punch. I punched out a Basic Black tag, cut it in half and added it to the back of the sentiment with a little showing top and bottom. The tag was added to the card front on Dimensionals.

To recreate the Tulip fun fold card, you will need:
Thick Basic White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at Pattern Party dsp – 5¾” by 1” Flirty Flamingo card – 4½” by 3¼” Basic White card – 4¼” by 3” Flirty Flamingo card – 5⅞” by 1” So Saffron card – 5⅞” by ⅛” Flirty Flamingo card – 5¾” by 4” Basic White card – 5⅝” by 3⅞” Pattern Party dsp – 5⅝” by ¼” Basic White ¼” strip Scrap So Saffron, Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green & Basic White
I began by running the Thick Basic White card base through the Cut & Emboss Machine with the larger front panel inside the Ornate Floral Embossing Folder. I really wanted the front to have a lot of texture and this is a great way of achieving this.
The thicker strip of Pattern Party dsp was glued to the smaller front panel. The Flirty Flamingo strip was added to the embossed card front panel and the thin strip of So Saffron added to soften the edge.
www.crafty-rootes.com – The beautiful Tulip Dies used with the Pattern Party dsp to make a fun fold card for the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop
Using the Stitched Rectangle Dies I cut a large rectangle from the Flirty Flamingo panel and a slightly small rectangle from the smaller panel of Basic White. I used a Blending Brush to add Pool Party ink to the Basic White panel and adhered the two rectangles together.
www.crafty-rootes.com – The beautiful Tulip Dies used with the Pattern Party dsp to make a fun fold card for the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop
I cut lots of Tulip pieces from scrap Flirty Flamingo, So Saffron and Basic White card and leaves and stems from Granny Apple Green card. The inner Basic White and So Saffron pieces were added to the Flirty Flamingo pieces with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The Flirty Flamingo outer layers were then folded over and held in place with Mini Dimensionals to give a real 3D effect. Gorgeous.

The flowers were then placed with liquid glue onto the inked rectangle and the stems and leaves added. The leaves also had a Mini Dimensional added in the centre so that they weren’t flat to the card. The whole panel was then added to the card front making sure to add my glue only to the right-hand side.
