Hello and welcome to the Winter Holiday Blog Hop where we are sharing projects based around any of the holidays which fall in the next couple of months with the exception of Christmas. I have chosen to make a card for Remembrance Day on the 11th November which I have sent to my son who is an officer in the British Army.
To recreate the poppy for remembrance card, you will need:
Evening Evergreen card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛” Sweet Sorbet card – 4¼” by 2” Basic White card – 4¼” by 2” Basic White card – 1½” by 1” Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
I stamped the largest flower in Evening Evergreen ink onto the Evening Evergreen card base.

The poppy was stamped in Evening Evergreen onto the smaller panel of Basic White card which was then die cut out using the Tailor-Made Tag Dies. I die cut the same tag from the Sweet Sorbet panel.

The following Blends Pens were used to colour in the image – Sweet Sorbet and Evening Evergreen. The 2 tags were then glue together slightly off-set with Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I stamped the sentiment in Sweet Sorbet ink onto the strip of Basic White card and added it to the side of the tags. The whole piece was then mounted onto the card front on Dimensionals.

I pushed some Real Red Ribbon through the hole in the tag and tied it together with a white Baker’s Twine bow. A trio of Real Red Rhinestones completed the car.

Hello and welcome to the Stamping Dreams Blog Hop where our theme is ‘In Memoriam’. My son is in the British Army and Remembrance Sunday is very important to us a family and I have chosen to make a field of poppies themed sympathy card.
To recreate the field of poppies card, you will need:
Petal Pink card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛” Poppy Parade card – 5⅝” by 3⅞” Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” x 2 Poppy Parade card – 2¼” by 2¼” Basic White card – 2¼” by 2¼”
Using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the group of poppies, twice across one of the Basic White panels.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Painted Poppies stamp set used to make a pretty card for the Stamping Dreams ‘In Memoriam’ Blog Hop
I used a Post It note to mask off the ½” strip where the poppy stems were stamped. I used a Blending Brush to apply Granny Apple Green ink between to strips of Post Of Note. The sticky strips were then moved up and Petal Pink ink was brushed on over the poppy flowers. Finally, I masked off a ½” strip above the flowers and coloured this in with Pool Party and a Blending Brush.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Painted Poppies stamp set used to make a pretty card for the Stamping Dreams ‘In Memoriam’ Blog Hop
I wrapped a length of Black Baker’s Twine around the stamped panel securing it on the back with Sellotape. The panel was then glued to the Poppy Parade layer with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I used the same liquid glue to add the panel to the Petal Pink card base.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Painted Poppies stamp set used to make a pretty card for the Stamping Dreams ‘In Memoriam’ Blog Hop
The sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the square or Basic White card. This was die cut using the Beautiful Shapes Dies. A slightly larger circle was cut from the square of Poppy Parade card using one of the Layering Circle Dies. The sentiment was mounted onto the card front on Dimensionals.
