The Welcoming Woods stamp set and some ink blending used for a stunning anniversary card using Stampin' Up! products

A Woody Anniversary card

Today I am sharing the woody anniversary card I made for husband as it was our 37th wedding anniversary earlier this week. I chose to use the Welcoming Woods stamp set.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the woody anniversary card, you will need:

Calypso Coral card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Early Espresso card – 5⅝” by 3⅞” – rounded upper left corner
Basic White card– 5½” by 3¾” x 2 – rounded upper left corner – one for the inside
Scrap Basic White & Calypso Coral

I took one of the basic white panels, added a circle punched from a Post It Note using a 1” Circle Punch and added it to the top. Then added ink using Blending Brushes. I started with Pale Papaya, adding it about half way up from the bottom.

I added Calypso Coral ink along the bottom third and Daffodil Delight ink in the centre.

Starting from the top I brushed on Balmy Blue ink followed by Highland Heather ink and finished with Night of Navy which I added to the top of the panel. I also added some of the Night of Navy around all of the edges to add some depth.

I removed the Post It Note to reveal the ‘moon’ and stamped the gorgeous tree trunks in Early Espresso ink. I added the shadows beneath the trees in 2nd generation Early Espresso ink. The inked panel was adhered to the Early Espresso panel with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I wrapped Linen thread around the panel three times before adding the panel to the Calypso Coral card base on Dimensionals.

The sentiment, from the Elegantly Said stamp set was stamped onto scrap Basic White card and punched it out using the Duo Oval Punch. I punched the scalloped oval using the same punch from scrap Calypso Coral card and added it to the card front on Dimensionals.

We slipped in a scrap of Basic White to stamp a 3rd penguin in the black ink.

Bright Leaves for the Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop

May be an image of text that says "Stamp 'n Hop Current Stampin' Up!® Only OCTOBER Mini Catalogue"

Hello and welcome to the Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop where our theme is ‘Mini Catalogue’. My favourite stamp set at the moment is the beautiful Gorgeous Leaves, any one who knows me knows I am a sucker for leaf sets……….don’t know what it is about them, just love leaves.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the bright leaves card, you will need:

Polished Pink card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Merry Merlot card – 5¼” by 3½”
Basic White card – 5⅛” by 3⅜”
Basic White card – 3¼” by 3¼”
Merry Merlot card – 3¼” by 3¼”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” for the inside

I decided on which size circle die I was going to use for my sentiment and where I was going to position the sentiment on the card – then I drew round the inside of the die lightly with a pencil. This means I know where I need to position my images.

The Gorgeous Leaves stamp set used to make a pretty card for the Stamp 'n Hop Blog Hop

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A beautiful bright leaves card made using the Gorgeous Leaves stamp set for the Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop

Using the large speckled stamp, I stamped around the pencil line in 2nd generation Blushing Bride. I just wanted a little of this colour in the background.

I then added the other leaves one colour at a time starting with the largest in Merry Merlot ink. Next came Polished Pink ink then Smoky Slate ink.

The tiny flowers were stamped in Basic Gray or Merry Merlot, I inked up one flower at a time. The stamp panel was then adhered to the Merry Merlot panel with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

The sentiment, from the Biggest Wish stamp set was stamped in Basic Gray ink onto a circle die cut from the square of Basic White card using my chosen size of circle die. I adhered the stamped sentiment to a slightly larger Merry Merlot scalloped circle with liquid glue then cut the side off using my Paper Trimmer. It was then added to the card front on Dimensionals.

Tye-Dyed Penguin for the Backgrounds Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Background stamps Blog Hop where, surprise, surprise we are using a backgrounds in the project we are sharing. I have made a tye-dyed penguin card.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the tye-dyed penguin card, you will need:

Thick Basic White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Fresh Freesia card – 5⅜” by 5⅝”
Basic White card – 5⅞” by 4⅜” – this will be trimmed down to 5¼” by 3½”
2021 – 2023 In Color Shimmer Paper – 3” by 3”
Scrap – Black Glimmer, Daffodil Delight & Basic White

Using my Stamparatus. I stamped the Spiral Dye using Fresh Freesia ink onto the large panel of Basic White card. Leaving the stamp in position I turned the Basic White panel around 180° and re-stamped the image in Pool Party ink. This gives a cute double swirl effect. Love it.

The panel was then trimmed down, using my Paper Trimmer to 5¼” by 3½”. The panel was then added to the Fresh Freesia panel using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The panel was then glued to the Thick Basic White card front using the same glue.

Using the Layering Circle Dies and Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, I cut a circle from the square of In Color 2021-2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum.  This was adhered to the card front with a Mini Glue Dot in the centre.

I added a Wonderful Snowflake with a single dimensional in the centre in the middle of the shimmer vellum.

I punched the main part of the penguin from scrap Black Glimmer paper using the Penguin Builder Punch. The breast of the penguin was punched from Basic White card and glued it to the glimmer piece. The feet were punched from scrap Daffodil Delight card, they were added with Mini Glue Dot Mini Glue Dots. The beak was stamped with Daffodil Delight ink and the eyes were added with Matte Black Dots. The penguin was added to the card front with a blob of liquid glue.

I stamped the sentiment from the Peaceful Deer stamp set in Versamark ink onto a scrap of Fresh Freesia card. I covered it with Black Embossing Powder and heat set it using a Heat Tool. It was added to the card front with liquid glue.

A trio of Pastel Pearls completed the card. I hope you like it.
