A masculine birthday card made using the Trusty Tools stamp set by Stampin' Up! Crafty colour challenge Blog Hop

Trusty Tools card for the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop where we are sharing projects based on a colour challenge. The colours we were given screamed ‘MASCULINE’ to me so I used the new Trusty Tools stamp set which will be available in my online shop from the 4th of January 2024.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the trusty tools card, you will need:

Shaded Spruce card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Night of Navy card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½”
Basic White card – 3” by 3”
Night of Navy card – 3” by 3”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside

I began by stamping the hammer, wrench and paint brush images from the Trusty Tools stamp set using Memento Tuxedo Back ink.

Shaded Spruce and Night of Navy Blends Pens were used to add ‘paint’ to the paint brushes. The decorated panel was then glued to the Night of navy layer and then to the Shaded Spruce card base.

The sentiment, from the Throughout the Year stamp set, was stamped in Night of Navy ink onto the square of Basic White card. I then punched the sentiment out using the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch. I stamped the ‘nuts and bolts’ image in Crushed Curry ink above and below the sentiment.

I punched another hexagon from the Shaded Spruce square, cut it in half from side to side and added it to the back of the sentiment so that a little of the Shaded Spruce showed at the top and bottom.

The Stars At Night stamp set and Dies and the Sending Cheer stamp set used to make a trio of tags for December classes

Stars At Night classes

Today, I am sharing the hanging ornament and trio of tags I designed for my December classes. I used the Stars At Night stamp set and dies to make the projects.

Colours used in the projects are:

Hanging Ornament

Gold Hoop – mine was about 4”
2 Circles of card stock or dsp which fit inside the gold hoop – I used the Shining Brightly dsp
Scrap Basic White card
Gold Ribbon

The ribbon was wrapped from the top to the bottom of the hoop, wrapped around and brought up to the top where it was wrapped around again and then tied in a double knot. The ends of the ribbon were then knotted to form a loop to hang the hoop.-

The Stars At Night stamp set and Dies and the Shining Brightly dsp by Stampin' Up!used to make a hanging ornament for December classes

www.crafty-rootes.com – A hanging ornament made using the Stars At Night stamp set and Dies and the Shining Brightly dsp for December classes

We slipped one die cut circle – I used the Stylish Circle dies to cut these from the Shining Brightly stamp set – behind the hoop and under the ribbon. The second  circle was glued on top, sandwiching the ribbon in the middle.

We used the Stamparatus – any stamp positioner would work – to stamp 3 large stars which I had die cut using the Stars at Night Dies.

The stamped stars were then folded in half from top to bottom. We used the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to score the stars down the centre line to make the folding easier.

The 3 stars were then glued together, one in the middle and one half of the other 2 glued on either side of the middle star. The back of the multiple star piece was then glued to the middle of the dsp inside the hoop.

Star at Night Tags

3 Starry Sky tags – cut using the Merriest Trees Dies
3 Basic White tags – cut using the Merriest Trees Dies
Scrap Basic White and Gold Foil to die cut stars

Using a Blending Brush we added Starry Sky ink around the edges of 2 of the Starry Sky tags. The third tag was inked around the edges using another Blending Brush and Whisper White craft ink.

www.crafty-rootes.com – A trio of tags made using the Stars At Night stamp set and Dies and the Sending Cheer stamp set for December classes

When the first 2 tags were dry we added Whisper White ink to the centre of both tags.

When the tags were dry We stamped the rays of light image in the centre of 1 of the tags and a scattering of snowflakes around the edges of the other 2.

From scrap Basic White and Gold Foil we die cut a selection of stars. The larger stars were glued to the inked tags and the smaller gold tags were added on top on Dimensionals.

We used Simply Elegant Trim to make the ties for the tags.

A simply stamped card for the Stamp 'N Hop Blog Hop made using the lovely Painted Lavender stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Simply Stamped Lavender card for the Stamp ‘N Hop Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamp ‘N Hop Blog Hop where we are paring it right back to stamps, ink and paper. I have used the gorgeous Painted Lavender stamp set to make my card. This stamp set will be available in the January – April 2024 Mini Catalogue.

Colours in this project are:

To recreate the simply stamped lavender card, you will need:

Fresh Freesia card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Gorgeous Grape card – 4⅞” by 3⅛”
Basic White card – 4¾” by 3”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” for the inside
Scrap Basic White card & Pool Party card

The bunch of stems from the Painted Lavender stamp set, was stamped in Old Olive ink onto the 4¾” by 3” panel of Basic White card.

The spray of flowers were stamped on top of the stems in Gorgeous Grape ink. I stamped it again, without re-inking and slightly rotated.

The butterflies were stamped in Pool Party ink. At this point I stamped a small sentiment directly onto the panel ……… and it wasn’t straight……. Aaaahhh. I glued the stamped panel to the Gorgeous Grape layer.

The spray of flowers was stamped in 2nd generation, or stamped off, Fresh Freesia ink in the upper left and lower right corners of the Fresh Freesia card front. The decorated panel was added to the card front on Dimensionals.

I stamped a different, slightly larger sentiment onto scrap Basic White card and trimmed it down. It didn’t quite cover the squint sentiment so I added a layer of Pool Party card before adding it to the card front.
