Today I have used the Season Like Christmas stamp set for a quirky last minute seasonal card.
I started with a panel of Whisper White cardstock panel 4⅛” by 4”. I stamped the ‘solid’ Christmas tree image using Old Olive Ink. I then over stamped it with the more ‘detailed’ tree image in Garden Green ink for a bit of depth. I then stamped the ‘tree trunk’ image in Early Espresso Ink. I love the way these three images work together to give a 3 dimensional look to the tree.
www.crafty-rootes.com – Season Like Christmas stamp set by Stampin’ Up!
I added the ‘ground’ using 1st and 2nd generation Crumb Cake ink. For a final touch I added the sweet little star from the set in Crushed Curry ink onto the top of the tree.
www.crafty-rootes.com – Season Like Christmas stamp set by Stampin’ Up!
I added a ½” strip of Gold Glimmer paper to either side of the stamped panel using Tombow Liquid Adhesive. Taking a 5⅞” by ¼” strip of Old Olive cardstock and stamped the sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set onto the strip using Old Olive ink. I glued this strip to a card base of Rich Razzelberry cardstock and added the stamped panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I am really happy with the unusual colour scheme for this card, I think it looks great. Let me know what you think?

Thank you to all the lovely ladies who came to the Adult Education Christmas classes in November and December. They made a gorgeous Book fold box with pockets to hold the cards, tags and envelopes they made during the day.
There were 4 project tables set up and the ladies moved from table to table during the day making 2 cards and 2 tags at 3 of the tables and the Book style wrapper and pockets at the 4th table.
Here are the projects they made.

Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set makes lovely bookmarks ready to be inserted into the Spring/Summer Catalogues. I made the bookmark/tag as part of a business challenge set by my lovely upline Mikaela. This stamp set will be available in the new Spring/Summer 2018 catalogue from the 3rd January 2018.
I started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock 5½” by 2”. I punched one end of the cardstock using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch before stamping the sentiment using Momento Tuxedo Black ink towards the bottom of the tag. I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig Stamp Positioning Tool to make sure I got it straight……always a challenge for me!
www.crafty-rootes.com – Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set by Stampin’ Up!
I mounted the ‘bow’ image onto an Acrylic Block B and the ‘bow shadow’ image onto another Acrylic Block B and began stamping from the bottom up to the top using the following ink colours: Peakaboo Peach, Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz, Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight, Berry Burst, Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzelberry, Lemon Lime Twist. I inked up each colour, stamped it off onto my Grid Paper then stamped the 2nd generation ink onto the bookmark – every colour that is with the exception of the Berry Burst where I forgot…..ooops.
www.crafty-rootes.com – Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set by Stampin’ Up!
I inked the ‘bow shadow’ image in the same ink and stamped it full strength to give some dimension to the image. I really liked the soft colours for this book mark.
Bookmark with a business card attached
To finish I cut a piece of Berry Burst cardstock and a piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock to 5½” by 2” and punched one end of each using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. I adhered the Daffodil Delight tag to the back of the stamped piece, slightly off set, using Tombow Liquid Adhesive. The Berry Burst piece was then added in the same way and off set to the other side. I then glued on a business card with my details on it. I added a piece of Silver Metallic Edged Ribbon through the hole at the top and tied it together with a bow made from the Silver ⅛” Ribbon.
Happy with they way this turned out, now to make lots more ready to insert into my new catalogues when they arrive.

Today I made a quick thank you card using a new stamp set called Lots of Lavender which will be one of the free choices you can make with a £45 order from the new Spring/Summer and Sale-a-Bration catalogues which launch on the 2nd January 2018.
www.crafty-rootes.com – Lots of Lavender by Stampin’ Up!
I choice a piece of Whisper White cardstock and cut it down to 5¼” by 3⅜”. I stamped the outline bouquet of flowers in Crumb Cake ink roughly in the centre of the cardstock leaving space for a sentiment below. I inked up the blurry flower image in Sweet Sugarplum ink and stamped it over the top of the Crumb Cake flower to give a pretty watercolored look. I used both of the leaf images and a Pear Pizzazz ink pad to add colour to the leaves and did the stems in the same colour.
I coloured the bow using the bow stamp and Daffodil Delight ink. The sentiment is from my favourite, Thankful Thoughts stamp set and is stamped in Sweet Sugarplum ink. I rounded the upper left corner using a corner rounder.
www.crafty-rootes.com – Lots of Lavender by Stampin’ Up!
I mounted the Whisper White layer onto a panel of Soft Suede cardstock with a rounded top left corner. I chose a Crumb Cake card base and added a strip of Sweet Sugarplum cardstock 5⅞” by 1¾” down the centre to add a touch of colour and interest before adding the stamped piece on top using Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish the card off I added 3 of the Glitter Epoxy Shapes which will be available in the new catalogue in January 2018

.
I love the card but when I make it again I think I will colour the bow in purple or blue. What do you think?

The Happiest of Days stamp set is a great set for making quick, simple, stylish cards in a hurry. I used it today for a birthday card and have added a sneak peek of new dsp which will be available from January.
www.crafty-rootes.com – Happiest of Days stamp set by Stampin’ Up!
I stamped the image of presents in Archival Basic Gray ink onto Whisper White cardstock and punched it out using the 2¼” Circle Punch, this was new in the annual catalogue this summer. I coloured in the image using Rich Razzleberry and Pink Pirouette Marker pens and added the sentiment from the Confetti Celebration stamp set in Rich Razzleberry ink.
www.crafty-rootes.com – Happiest of Days stamp set by Stampin’ Up!
I punched a circle from Pink Pirouette cardstock using the 2½” punch and added it to the back of the Whisper White circle using Tombow Liquid Adhesive.
Using the Banner Triple Punch I flagged the end of a 5½” by 2” piece of dsp from the upcoming Petal Passion 12” by 12” dsp pack and added it to the front of a Rich Razzleberry card base using Tombow Liquid Adhesive.
www.crafty-rootes.com – Happiest of Days stamp set by Stampin’ Up!
I added the looped Silver Metallic Edged Ribbon onto the piece of dsp, holding it in place with Fast Fuse Adhesive. The topper piece was then added over the top using Stampin’ Dimensionals. After the photos were taken I added a Black Rhinestone to the centre of each of the bows on top of the presents.
A very simple, understated card, Hope you like it.

Today I am sharing a sneak peek using the Flying Home stamp set from the new Spring Summer Catalogue which launches in January 2018. As demonstrators we are lucky enough to see new product from upcoming catalogues and also pre order from the new catalogue a month or more before they launch to the public. A fabulous perk of being a demo. Even better those of us who go to OnStage events are given some of the new product for free……. love it……. this is a set I was given.

I stamped the adorable trio of bird houses using Momento Tuxedo Black ink onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock 5” by 3⅜” and set about colouring the image using the fantastic new Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. I used the following colours: Light & Dark Smoky Slate, Light & Dark Pool Party, Light & Dark Daffodil Delight, Light Cherry Cobbler, Light Old Olive. Light & Dark Calypso Coral, Light & Dark Rich Razzleberry, Light Bermuda Bay, Light & Dark Pink Pirouette, Light Crumb Cake, Light Night of Navy, Ivory. I know colouring in is not for everyone but I love it.

I added the sentiment from the Thankful Thoughts stamp set using Momento Tuxedo Black ink. A small strip of Washi Tape from the Basics 3 pack on opposite corners finished off the stamped panel.

I adhered an offset panel of Basic Gray cardstock onto a Bermuda Bay card base using Tombow Liquid Adhesive. The Very Vanilla cardstock layer was added on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For my November classes we used the Hearts Come Home stamp set and the co-ordinating Hometown edgelits to make great Christmas cards. This is such a versatile bundle and could be used to make new home or wedding cards .
www.crafty-rootes.com – Hearts Come Home stamp set and Hometown framelits by Stampin’ Up
The first card was relatively simple. We took a panel of Whisper White cardstock 5 ½” by 4”, to the Big Shot and die cut the ‘church’ edgelit, placing the top of the spire as close to the top of the panel as possible. I deliberately gave the ladies a larger piece of cardstock so that they needn’t try to get everything straight. After die cutting they trimmed the church and houses free of the scrap. The ladies laid the die cut piece onto a panel of Night of Navy cardstock 5⅜” by 3⅝” and using the Fine-tip Glue Pen randomly added spots of glue all over the panel, covering the spots of glue with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. The sentiment was stamped using Night of Navy ink onto the bottom of the die cut panel. We added a scrap of Tempting Turquoise cardstock to the back of the church and added the die cut panel to the Night of Navy layer with Tombow and the whole panel added to a Thick Whisper White card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The trees were then die cut from Emerald Envy cardstock and added with Tombow.
www.crafty-rootes.com – Hearts Come Home stamp set and Hometown framelits by Stampin’ UpFor the second card we stamped the sentiment from the Merry Patterns stamps set in Pacific Point ink at the bottom of a piece of Whisper White cardstock which had been die cut using the largest oval Stitched Frame die. The houses were added in Night of Navy ink, Tempting Turquoise ink and Pacific Point ink. The trees were stamped in Emerald Envy ink. We added the oval to a slightly larger Night of Navy scalloped oval using Tombow. We die cut the decorative border from the Swirly Snowflakes framelits from a piece of Whisper White cardstock 5⅜” by 3⅝” and added a piece of Night of Navy crushed seam binding, securing it at the back with Sellotape. The stamped oval was added with Stampin’ Dimensionals over the ribbon and a bow added at the side.
www.crafty-rootes.com – Hearts Come Home stamp set and Hometown Edgelits by Stampin’ Up!
For the final card we die cut the houses from a panel of Whisper White cardstock 3” by 2 ½” before die cutting using one of the Layering Circle dies. We ‘scribbled’ over the die cut piece using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen and sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. The die cut houses were the added to an identical Night of Navy circle and matted this onto a slightly larger Tempting Turquoise die cut circle. Using the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch we punched out 2 ribbon strips from a piece of Tempting Turquoise cardstock and glued them to the back of a piece of Night of Navy cardstock 4⅛” by 2”. A strip of Emerald Envy cardstock was added using Tombow and the whole piece added to a Thick Whisper White card base. The circle topper was then added using Stampin’ Dimensionals. We used the Night of Navy marker and the Emerald Envy marker to colour in the sentiment before stamping it in the bottom right hand corner.

I have had the most fantastic time over the weekend with my fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrators at our twice yearly convention. This time I was lucky enough to be invited to CentreStage where Demonstrators who are Silver Elite and above are spoiled with a lovely meal, business training and lots of special treats. It was amazing to meet up with other demonstrators, share experiences and ideas and especially lovely that I was accompanied by my fantastic upline Mikaela Titheridge.
www.crafty-rootes.com – CentreStage Mikaela and 1
On Saturday 11 members of the team joined Mikaela and I for a full on day of crafting and business. One of the best things about the day is the swapping…….we love swapping. Many demos make card fronts or 3D projects to swap with each other. This means we come home with loads of ideas and inspiration and loads of samples to show at class often using stamp sets and dies we don’t have. Here are a couple of photos showing the swaps I received.

The Stamparatus – Stampin’ Up!’s new stamp positioning tool is coming soon and will be available to pre-order from 09.00pm on 16 November – 30 November – while stocks last and will be shipped out around the 1st February 2018. I am beyond excited about this and will definitely be reserving my Stamparatus as soon as I can. Click on this link to see how it works -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3teCr7Xo4G8&feature=youtu.be
Here’s why I want one;
It’s can be used with both red rubber and Photopolymer stamps
There is a foam mat to use with Photopolymer stamps
It has 2 open sides so you can stamp on larger paper and cardstock
It has integral rulers and grid lines for quick and easy measuring. Please note that the UK version will be metric only
It has 2 reversible plates making a total of 4 surfaces to work with. This means endless possibilities with 2, 3 or even 4 step stamping.
Both plates can simply be unhinged and moved down making it much easier to stamp a line of the same image or a repeating patter.
2 bar magnets included to hold the paper in place and there is an area underneath the Stamparatus to store the magnets
Retail Price – £44.00 – Reserve your copy on 16 November 2017 (from 9.00 pm) by visiting my On-line Shop.

Twice a year Stampin’ Up! demonstrators have the opportunity to get together at an event called OnStage for training and the opportunity to network. It is always such fun; we get to see the up-coming new catalogue, to try out some of the new product and to get some business tips and ideas and come away with some freebies……..Whoop Whoop.
As part of the fun many of us design and make swaps to share with other demonstrators and this time I opted for a 3D swap using some of the Brights colour collection – Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzelberry, Old Olive, Bermuda Bay and Real Red. I knew I wanted to use mini Toblerones , love these………. so I searched Pinterest and Youtube for ideas on packaging and stumbled across an video by Linda Parker – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrV6TkIV5qg featuring a box she made to hold 2 mini Toblerones. I adapted her measurements and came up with this cute little triangular box.
www.crafty-rootes.com -OnStage swaps using the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set by Stampin’ Up!
I started with a piece of cardstock 5” by 5¼”. Using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool I scored the long side at ⅞”, 1”, 2¼”, 3½” and 4¾”. I rotated the cardstock 90⁰ and scored on the short side at 1¼”and 3¾”.
www.crafty-rootes.com -OnStage swaps using the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set by Stampin’ Up!
Rotating the cardstock to the long side again with the ½” score line on the left make a notch mark at the 2⅜” mark at the top and bottom of the cardstock.
www.crafty-rootes.com -OnStage swaps using the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set by Stampin’ Up!
Using scissors cut as shown in the photograph.
www.crafty-rootes.com -OnStage swaps using the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set by Stampin’ Up!
Taking a ruler and the scoring tool, score from the 2⅜” notch to the right angled score lines to form a triangle at the top and bottom.
www.crafty-rootes.com -OnStage swaps using the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set by Stampin’ Up!
Fold and burnish all of the score lines, bendy the triangular scorelines in the opposite direction to the rest – see photograph. I also rounded the corners of the top flap.
www.crafty-rootes.com -OnStage swaps using the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set by Stampin’ Up!
I applied Fast Fuse to the 4 tabs and closed the sides of the box. The mini Toblerone was then inserted and the flap closed over.
www.crafty-rootes.com -OnStage swaps using the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set by Stampin’ Up!
Taking a whole sheet of Whisper White cardstock I randomly stamped a variety of flowers and leaves using the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set and the same Brights colour palette used for the boxes. I then cut the stamped cardstock into 4½” by ¾” strips using the Stampin’ Paper Trimmer.
www.crafty-rootes.com -OnStage swaps using the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set by Stampin’ Up!
These were wrapped around each box and stuck together with Fast Fuse. I stamped the sentiment from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set in one of the Brights colours onto Whisper White cardstock before punching it out with a ¾” Circle punch. Using Fast Fuse I added this circle to a 1” circle punched using the Brights collection of cardstock and a 1” Circle punch. The circle was then stuck onto the belly band using Fast Fuse.
