Today I am sharing my entry to this week’s Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge #436.

Making the card

Snowfall thinlits and Frosted Floral dsp for a Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge

www.crafty-rootes.com – Snowfall thinlits for a Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge

I chose the Frosted Floral designer series paper (dsp) and cut 2 panels – one at 5¼ ” by 1” and the other at 4” by 1½”. The 5 ¼” by 1” piece was added with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to a panel of Blackberry Bliss cardstock measuring 5⅜” by 1⅛”. The shorter panel was added in the same way to a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 4⅛” by 1⅜.

I took a Gray Granite card base and added the longer panel with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I then placed the other panel on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The snowflake was added with a combination of Liquid Adhesive and Dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment for the Itty Bitty Greeting stamp set in Blackberry Bliss ink onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and trimmed it down before adding with glue. I finished off with a scattering of Basic Rhinestones.

Such a pretty card. I hope you like it.

Balloon Celebration stamp set used for the Global Design Project #166 sketch challenge

Balloon Celebration for the GDP #166 Challenge

Today I am sharing a card made using the Global Design Project #166 sketch challenge. I love a sketch challenge, it really makes you think about using what you have on your shelf in a different way.

Making the card

I started with a panel of Whisper White cardstock 4” by 2 ¾” and adhered it, offset,  to a panel of Highland Heather cut to the same size. These glued panels were then taken to the Big Shot and had a part circle cut out using the Layering Circle dies.

I added a balloon to the negative die cut space using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The balloon was punched using the Balloon Bouquet Punch from Highland Heather cardstock.

I stamped the sentiment from the One Wild Ride stamp set in Momento Tuxedo Black ink onto a strip of Whisper White cardstock 2¾” by ⅜” and added it to a strip of Highland Heather cardstock measuring 2¾” by ½”. I then punched a Coastal Cabana strip using the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch and added it to the sentiment. I love those little scallops peeking out, so pretty.

Beautiful Baubles stamp set makes fantastic Christmas cards

Beautiful Bauble November Classes

Today I am sharing the 3 projects made by the ladies during the November classes. We used the gorgeous Beautiful Baubles stamp set and coordinating Detailed Bauble dies. This month I thought I would shake things up a bit by starting with the most complicated card and ending up with the most straightforward card instead of the other way round.

Hanging Bauble card

We began by taking the Coastal Cabana card base and laying a panel of Whisper White measuring 5⅜” by 3⅜” on the front. We then placed the 2nd largest circle die from the Layering Circle Framelits onto the Whisper White panel and ran both layers through the Big Shot together to give us the window. We then ran the die cut Whisper White piece through the Big Shot with the Oh My Stars Embossing folder and set it aside..

Beautiful Baubles stamp set makes fantastic Christmas cards

www.crafty-rootes.com – Beautiful Baubles cards for November classes

Taking a die cut circle of Vellum and Sponge Daubers we sponged the centre with Coastal Cabana ink and added Gorgeous Grape around the edge and set the piece aside to dry. I had previously die cut 2 of the detailed baubles for each lady using the Detailed Bauble dies and Silver Foil Paper. These die cuts were placed face down onto the Silicon Craft, We squeezed a little Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive onto the sheet and picked it up with a small wedge of sponge and dabbed it all over both pieces. The coloured Vellum layer was the sandwiched between the 2 sticky layers and pressed together until the glue dried.

We threaded a small piece of ⅛” Whisper White Ribbon through the loop of the bauble and added it to the Coastal Cabana card front with Sellotape allowing the bauble to hang in the ‘window’. The embossed Whisper White layer was then added to the card front with multipurpose liquid adhesive, lining up the die cut window and hiding the ends of the ribbon. We coloured a longer piece of the same ribbon using the dark Highland Heather Blends pen and tied it in a bow before adding it to the top of the bauble with a Mini Glue Dot.

The sentiment from the Star of Light Stamp set was stamped in Gorgeous Grape onto a scrap of Whisper White. This was then added to a scrap of Gorgeous Grape cardstock and trimmed down. It was added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card front and a scattering of Iridescent Sequins were added.

The inside Whisper White panel was added with the same adhesive after we had stamped some random stars in the upper right corner. We stamped the same stars on the front of a Whisper White Envelope.

Embossed Bauble

We began this card by swiping over a panel of Whisper White card stock measuring 5⅜” by 3⅜” using the Embossing Buddy. We then stamped the large bauble in the centre with Versamark ink. The string was added to the top of the bauble using Versark and the panel was then covered with Silver Embossing Powder. We then melted the embossing powder using the Heat Tool. Love this effect.

Beautiful Baubles stamp set makes fantastic Christmas cards

www.crafty-rootes.com – Beautiful Baubles cards for November classes

Taking the following Blends pens we then coloured parts of the bauble – Light & Dark Highland Heather, Light & Dark Bermuda Bay & Light & Dark Pool Party.  The upper right hand panel of the layer was rounded using the Detailed Trio Punch. We also rounded the upper right corner of the card front and a Gorgeous Grape layer measuring 5½” by 3¾”. The embossed panel was glued to the Gorgeous Grape layer with Multipurpose liquid Adhesive.

A strip of Coastal Cabana cardstock, 5⅞” by 2” was added to the front of the Thick Whisper White card base and the embossed layer added with Stampin Dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped in Bermuda Bay ink onto a scrap of Whisper White which was cut down and added with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The card was finished off with a scattering of Iridescent Sequins.

Row of Baubles

We stamped the tiny snowflakes randomly down the left hand edge of a Bermuda Bay card base using Bermuda Bay ink.  The baubles were stamped in Basic Gray onto a panel of Whisper White measuring 4⅛” by 2½” and stamped the little snowflakes along the top of the panel.

Beautiful Baubles stamp set makes fantastic Christmas cards

www.crafty-rootes.com – Beautiful Baubles cards for November classe

Using a selection of Marker pens, Gorgeous Grape, Bermuda Bay, Highland Heather, Coastal Cabana and Pool  Party, the ladies picked out some areas of the baubles to colour. A thin layer of Silver Foil was added to hide the top of the bauble strings and the panel was added to a layer of Gorgeous Grape cardstock 4⅛” by 2¾” and this was added to the card front on dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped onto the card front with Gorgeous Grape ink and we tucked in strips of Highland Heather, Whisper White and Coastal Cabana cardstock under the raised panel and added the scatter of Iridescent Sequins.

Hello and welcome to November’s Stamp ‘N Hop blog hop. My name is Mo Rootes and I live near Cambridge in the UK. If you have hopped on from Karen Watts I am sure you enjoyed her project. This month we are CASEing (either copy and share everything or copy and selectively edit) the Annual Catalogue and I had such a hard job choosing a project to make. In the end I went for a sweet card using the Apron of Love stamp set on page 61 of the catalogue but changed it up a little.

Apron of Love card

Bright summery colours with the Beautiful Baubles stamp set

Brightly Coloured Baubles

I posted a card using the amazing Beautiful Bauble stamp set back in October and decided to re-make it as a brightly coloured bauble card using non-traditional summery colours colours.

Re making the Beautiful Bauble card

I started with a panel of Watercolor Paper 4½” by 3”. I rubbed the Embossing Buddy over the paper to get rid of oils and static before stamping the large bauble randomly across the panel with Versamark ink. I then covered the panel in White Embossing Powder and heat set it using my Heat Tool.

Bright summery colours with the Beautiful Baubles stamp set

www.crafty-rootes.com – Bright summery colours with the Beautiful Baubles stamp set

I chose to colour my baubles using Mango Melody and Melon Mango which were the colours used by Alisa Tilsner in the original blog post I saw. I added a couple of drops of each of the re-inkers to a clear block. I then added water to one bauble using an Aquapainter, picked up some of the re-inker with the Aquapainter and added it to the bauble. I love the way the ink moves in the water. I coloured each bauble one at a time.

Bright summery colours with the Beautiful Baubles stamp set

www.crafty-rootes.com – Bright summery colours with the Beautiful Baubles stamp set

When all the baubles were coloured in I left the panel to dry before adding it with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to a layer of Melon Mambo cardstock measuring 4⅝” by 3⅛”. I took a Thick Whisper White card base and added a strip of Mango Melody cardstock measuring 4⅛” by 2” to the front using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The embossed panel was added on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

www.crafty-rootes.com – Bright summery colours with the Beautiful Baubles stamp set

The sentiment was stamped in Versamark onto a strip of Melon Mambo cardstock and covered it with White Embossing Powder. I heat set it using my Heat tool before flagging the ends and adding it to the front of the card with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I really love this colour combo, the card looks gorgeous.
