Today is David and I’s 35th wedding anniversary………seems like yesterday…..and I am sharing the card I made for him using the Sip Sip Hooray stamp set and the gorgeous Gold Delicata ink.
To Recreate the Sip Sip Hooray card you will need;
Thick Whisper White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” Gold Foil – 5½” by 3¾” Whisper White 5⅛” by 3⅜”
www.crafty-rootes.com – Sip Sip Hooray stamp set and the Gold Glitz Delicata ink used to made a stunning anniversary card
I stamped the martini glass in the bottom right corner of the Whisper White panel using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I stamped the same image onto a PostIt note and trimmed it out with sharp scissors. I covered the stamped glass with the PostIt mask and stamped it again.

I stamed the infill for each glass using the Gold Glitz Delicata ink using the mask again to protect the first glass.

Welcome to the October Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop where our theme this month is ‘ CASE your own card’. If you have come from the lovely Sandra Herzog I am sure you loved her project. You are currently visiting Mo Rootes from near Cambridge in the UK. I hope you like what I am sharing today.
I chose to CASE a card made for my August classes. I love this card design, it is so simple but really effective. I have used the lovely new Peaceful Boughs stamp set for the updated project.
To recreate the Peaceful Boughs card you will need:
Thick Whisper White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded right lower corner Whisper White – 5⅝” by 3⅞” – rounded right lower corner x 2 Whisper White – 3⅞” by 1” Noble Peacock Foil – 3⅞” by ⅜” x 2
I began by using a PostIt Note to mask off a 1” strip on one of the Whisper White panels.
www.crafty-rootes.com – Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop CASE your own card using the Peaceful Boughs stamp set
I stamped the both the large and small pinecones randomly above and below the masked area using Soft Suede ink. These pinecones are so realistic aren’t they? The PostIt mask was then removed.
The sentiment from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set was stamped on the 1” strip in Soft Suede ink.
www.crafty-rootes.com – Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop CASE your own card using the Peaceful Boughs stamp set
The strips of Noble Peacock Foil were then added to the top and bottom of the sentiment strip with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
www.crafty-rootes.com – Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop CASE your own card using the Peaceful Boughs stamp set
The sentiment panel was then was added to the stamped panel on Dimensionals. The whole piece was glued to the Bermuda Bay card base using the same iquid adhesive. A trio of Noble Peacock Rhinestones were added to the card front.
www.crafty-rootes.com – Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop CASE your own card using the Peaceful Boughs stamp set
I stamped a large and small pinecone onto the remaining Whisper White panel and adhered it inside the card. The same stamps were used to decorate the envelope.

I do hope you like my card. Please continue on to see what Narelle Fasulo has to share with us.

Today I am sharing the cards we made in class this week using the gorgeous Perfectly Plaid stamp set and the co-ordinating Pine Tree Punch. This is a great set, fab for beginner stampers as it is so easy to create great looking cards with this bundle.
To recreate the Front Flap over card you will need:
Real Red or Cherry Cobbler card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 2 DSP 4½” by 3” Real Red 6½” by 1” scored at 2½” Real Red or Gold Glimmer 2¼” by 3½” Whisper White scrap
www.crafty-rootes.com – Perfectly Plaid stamp set and the Pine Tree Punch used for October classes
We added the dsp to one of Whisper White panels using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and used the same glue to adhere this panel to the front of the card base. Depending on which dsp they were given the ladies used either a Real Red or Cherry Cobbler card base. The tree was stamped using Call Me Clover ink on the Whisper White panel for the inside of the card, on the envelope and on scrap Whisper White. The tree on the scrap cardstock was punched out using the Pine Tree Punch. The ladies die cut an oval from scrap Whisper White and a Glimmer scalloped oval from either Real Red Glimmer of Gold Glimmer using the layering Oval dies. The sentiment from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set was stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink near the bottom of the Whisper White oval. The punched out tree was added above on Dimensionals.
We folded the thin red strip on the scoreline and adhered the long side, with the fold just protruding over the edge, to the inside of the card – where you would normally write your message. Adhere the inside panel over the top of the strip to hide it. We closed the card and brought the flap over and adhered the White oval to the front of the strip and added the Glitter scalloped oval to the back of the flap and the white oval hiding the messy bits and the card is finished.
To recreate the Trio of Trees card you will need:
Blueberry Bushel card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” Whisper White – 4⅛” by 2½” Whisper White – 4⅛” by ½” Real Red Glimmer paper – 4⅛” by ½”
www.crafty-rootes.com – Perfectly Plaid stamp set and the Pine Tree Punch used for October classes
We randomly stamped the small pinecone in Blueberry Bushel ink onto the front of the Blueberry Bushel card base. The skeleton tree was stamped in Shaded Spruce ink on the front of the envelope, the large Whisper White panel for the inside, twice on the 2½” Whisper White strip and once on scrap Whisper White – this last one would be punched out. Those with a steady hand added the leaf infill using Call Me Clover ink. The punched tree was added to the 2½” strip on Dimensionals and the red glimmer strip added to the bottom. The sentiment from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set was stamped on the thin Whisper White strip in Real Red ink and added to the card front with liquid adhesive. The inside panel was added with the same adhesive.
To recreate the Simple Tree card you will need
Call Me Clover card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 2 Whisper White – 5⅜” by by 2¼” Real Red Glimmer 2¼” by 3½” Whisper White 2¼” by 3½”
www.crafty-rootes.com – Perfectly Plaid stamp set and the Pine Tree Punch used for October classes
Using the Stamparatus we stamped the Buffalo Check onto the Whisper White strip using Blueberry Bushel ink. The strip was then glued to one of the Whisper White panels. This was then glued to the card front. We die cut a Whisper White oval and Real Red Glimmer scalloped oval using the Layering Ovals dies. The tree was stamped in Call Me Clover ink onto the white oval and the the sentiment added in Blueberry Bushel ink. The ovals were then adhered and added to the card front with dimensionals. The inner layer was glued inside the card.
www.crafty-rootes.com – Perfectly Plaid stamp set and the Pine Tree Punch used for October classes
All the cards were decorated with Glimmer Paper stars, Red Rhinestones or Gold Metallic Pearls. I hope you like the cards.

Today I am sharing a card made using the So Many Stars bundle for my lovely friend and downline Jo Law who has promoted to Silver last week – whoop whoop.
To recreate the So Many Stars card you will need:
Thick Whisper White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” Old Olive – 5½” by 3¾” Silver Foil – 5” by 5” Window Sheet 3⅝” by 4” Whisper White ½” strip
I began by die cutting the second largest star from the old Olive panel using the Stitched Stars dies. I adhered the Window Sheet to the back of the Old Olive panel to cover the star shaped hole. Using the same stitched star die and the next size down I die cut the star shaped frame from Silver Foil and inlaid it onto the Window Sheet covered aperture using a small amount of Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
www.crafty-rootes.com – A congratulations card made using the So Many Stars stamp set and Stitched Stars dies
I used the dimensional strips on the back of the die cut panel to edge the star shape and also on the corners of the panel. I rubbed the embossing buddy around the inside of the star on the back of the panel to remove any static.

Welcome to this months perfectly awsome Stamper’s Showcase blog hop where our theme is ‘Holiday catalogue’.
I love, love the holiday catalogue and it was so difficult to choose one set to showcase but finally I settled on the Perfectly Plaid stamp set and Pine Tree Punch. I chose this stamp set because it is so easy to make great cards with and is accessible to crafters of all levels. Having a punch also makes it ideal for the beginner and casual crafter.
To recreate the Perfectly Plaid card you will need:
Pool Party card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” Whisper White – 5½” by 3¾” Whisper White – 5⅞” by 3⅝” Let It Snow dsp – 5⅞” by ½” x 2 Noble Peacock Foil – 5⅞” by ⅛” x 2 Scrap Whisper White
I began by stamping the 2 Real Red plaid trees onto the long, thin strip of Whisper White cardstock.
www.crafty-rootes.com – A Christmas card made using the Perfectly Plaid stamp set and Pine Tree Punch
I punched out 2 trees from PostIt notes using the Pine Tree Punch and used these to mask the stamped trees. Other trees were added behind. A plaid tree was stamped in Pretty Peacock ink onto scrap Whisper White cardstock, punched out and added to the panel in the centre on Dimensionals.
www.crafty-rootes.com – A Christmas card made using the Perfectly Plaid stamp set and Pine Tree Punch
The stamped layer was glued to the 2 strips of dsp using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The 2 strips of Nobel Peacock Foil were then added to the panel with the same glue.

Here is a simple but stunning Christmas card made using the Peaceful Boughs stamp set and Beautiful Boughs dies.
To recreate the Peaceful Boughs card you will need:
Thick Whisper White – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left and lower right corner
Gold Foil – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper left and lower right corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded upper left and lower right corner
Gold Foil – 5½” by ¼”
Scrap Garden Green and Whisper White
I began by pressing my open Pear Pizzazz ink pad onto a clear block, added a drop of glycerine, mixed the ink and the glycerine together with the sponge and sponged it onto the Whisper White panel. The glycerine helps the ink to spread and blend without becoming streaky.
www.crafty-rootes.com – Peaceful Boughs stamp set and Beautiful Boughs dies make a sweet Christmas card
The large pine branch image was then stamped around the panel using Garden Green ink. I added the gold dots using some of the luscious Gold Glitz Delicata ink.
www.crafty-rootes.com – Peaceful Boughs stamp set and Beautiful Boughs dies make a sweet Christmas card
I used the Beautiful Boughs dies to cut out the small detailed pine cone from the centre of the Gold Foil panel – actually I cut out quite a few……….no one will ever know….
www.crafty-rootes.com – Peaceful Boughs stamp set and Beautiful Boughs dies make a sweet Christmas card
The stamped panel was mounted on the the Gold Foil with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and added to the Thick Whisper White card base on Dimensionals. I added the thin strip of Gold Foil to the front.
www.crafty-rootes.com – Peaceful Boughs stamp set and Beautiful Boughs dies make a sweet Christmas card
The sentiment was stamped in Garden Green ink onto scrap Whisper White cardstock and punched out with the Tailored Tag Punch. I used the same punch to punch out a Garden Green tag which I cut from left to right lengthways and glued it to the back of the punched sentiment. The sentiment was then added to the card front on Dimensionals.
www.crafty-rootes.com – Peaceful Boughs stamp set and Beautiful Boughs dies make a sweet Christmas card
I die cut some of the small pine boughs from scrap Whisper White cardstock and tucked them under the sentiment with a little liquid glue. The die cut gold pine cone was then added. I finished the card by adding a trio of Gold Metallic Pearls.
Such a pretty card. I hope you like it.
