A Wooded Acres card – Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop where we are sharing projects involving heat embossing. I have chosen to use a new stamp set called Wooded Acres which will be available from March in my online shop.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the wooded acres card, you will need:

Thick Basic White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Basic Black card – 4⅛” by 2¼”
Basic White card – 4⅛” by 2⅜”
Scrap Pool Party and Mossy Meadow

The row of trees was stamped on the strip of Basic White card with Versamark ink. I covered the stamped image with Black Embossing Powder and set it using my Heat Tool.

I punched a ¾” circle from a Post It Note and added it above the tree line.

Using Blending Brushes I added Pool Party ink above the tree line to create the ‘sky’. Lost Lagoon ink was the added with a Blending Brush to the top edges to add depth. The ‘ground’ was added with Old Olive and Mossy Meadow inks, again using Blending Brushes. The whole piece was then glued to the layer of Basic Black card.

The wavy edge die from the Ocean Friends was used to create borders for the top and bottom of the panel. The top one in Pool Party and the bottom in Mossy Meadow and they were added with glue. The whole piece was mounted onto the Basic White card front on Dimensionals.
